HOSANNA PRAYERS
My son is expanding his knowledge of the world. We have this adorable book, called 'Here We Are', that is teaching him that we live on planet earth, which has a moon, an ocean with animals underwater, a planet with hot volcanos (he refuses to touch the image in fear of burning), and with people of all shares, sizes, and backgrounds. 
 
With such growing knowledge, I was challenged to teach him about God; who he is, where he lives, and what he does for us. I know it sounds like a simple thing, 'duh, of course, teach your child about God'. But it is not a tangible reality since God is Spirit and cannot be seen. So I started with a very simple prayer, I told him that when he feels afraid he can say, "God, help me!" So he has been saying this at the top of his lungs when I out him to bed, "God, help me!" In Spanish, of course, the language of heaven. 
 
As Leo grows in his consciousness of God's existence and his nearness and care for us, I want him to know that God is one who saves, who helps, who hears us when we cry out to him. I think it's working! 
 
As we approach Palm Sunday this weekend, we are reminded of a very simple prayer that we should all know by heart; HOSANNA! When the crowds saw Jesus entering Jerusalem, they quoted a prayer from Psalms 118:
 
"Lord, save us! Lord, grant us success! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. From the house of the Lord we bless you."

I've not been one to be ok with short prayers, but over the years with the chaos of life, I have found the value of a HOSANNA. Heading into a difficult meeting, HOSANNA! Heading into LA traffic, HOSANNA, heading into a hard moment with family, HOSANNA! It is a powerful, and short prayer. Try it as we head into Palm Sunday!

  8. Ruth Zimbron | Bella leaves today on her mission trip to the orphanage in Mexico. I would appreciate prayer for The Holy Spirit to move through Bella to draw her closer to God and to be a blessing to her teammates and the children. I pray total surrendering to Jesus. That Bella's faith would be real and that she would be repelled by the ungodly things of this world. And that Bella would know God's voice and be obedient to his calling in her life. Thank you so much.

The surgeon wants her to lose 30 pounds before a procedure she needs. This will help prevent complications later. She lost 12, but not fast enough. The Doctor is ordering her medication to help her lose weight.

  16. Turae Conley | Prayers for my goddaughter, she has lupus, and she's in and out of the hospital, without any real diagnosis. Also, my daughter and granddaughter need a permanent place to stay.

The doctors say I have a certain type of Dementia. They say that they can't stop it, only slow it down. BUT I SERVE AN AWESOME GOD! I thank everyone for their support and prayers.
