This Easter Sunday was one of the BIGGEST in Light & Life's history. While we are still recovering physically from this amazing Holy Week, we've been celebrating in our hearts the dozens of decisions to follow Jesus, to recommit, and the 30+ baptisms!
One of my favorite moments between our 5 English services were the testimonies from various members who have been experiencing God's help in this season. One thread that brought them all together was the testimony of prayer!
Gabby testified that she saw the prayers of her community be answered as she recovered from cancer and her husband from a brain aneurysm after hearing he might not recover from it.
Alex testified that prayer pulled him through his death experience after being stabbed 7 times, including through the heart.
Teena testified she saw prayers answered after her nephew recovered from being declared dead.
Jessica testified that her commitment to prayer helped her overcome living in a shelter as a single mother and getting back on her feet financially.
Friends, there is power in prayer! Not because prayer is some sort of special arrangement of words or repetition, but because of the one to whom they are directed, Jesus, the Risen King, the Chosen One, the Alpha and the Omega, the Mediator between God and humans!
Revelation 12:11 says that we will overcome the accuser... "by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death."
Wow! There is power is the blood of Jesus and our testimony! I pray that this short devotional would give you boldness to share your testimony more and more, knowing that if it can help defeat Satan, then it can help bring people to Jesus!
You'll hear more testimony from your pastors later this week about the wonderful things God did during Holy Week at Light & Life, but for now, would you join me in raising up prayers of gratitude to God for what took place?
-Pray for the more than 40 people who decided to follow Jesus
-Pray for the more than 30 people who were baptized
-Pray for the more than 1,200 people who joined us to hear the gospel and celebrate the resurrection
